Amadeus and Traveltainment jointly work on new package tour search for Tour Market and Bistro Portal

Bad Homburg/Wuerselen, 2 March 2018 – On the basis of a consistent technology Amadeus Germany and Traveltainment jointly work on new graphic interfaces, new functions and processes for the search for package tours via Amadeus Tour Market and Traveltainment Bistro Portal. This takes place in close collaboration with travel agencies and should reach market maturity before the end of 2018.

The objective is to facilitate the search functions of both solutions, enrich them with additional information and align them, so that travel agents can equally handle both solutions. The division of work will take place as usual: Traveltainment Bistro Portal remains a consulting and offer comparison system across providers, Amadeus Tour Market an in-depth solution for the booking of tour operator products.

Among other things, Amadeus and Traveltainment plan to optimise work processes by means of reducing the clicks required for frequently recurring tasks, e.g. to access maps and big pictures during the consultation. Also mouse-over menus and displayable detailed information reduce the number of individual work steps. The modern design will be oriented towards the processes of the online world and at the same time keep the familiar work environment. Tour operators can present their offers more descriptive and detailed in the results list of Amadeus Tour Market.

“It is no secret that the interaction between Traveltainment Bistro Portal and Amadeus Tour Market should become closer,” says Uta Martens, General Manager at Amadeus Germany. “The joint work on the package tour search for both products will be the first visible expression of this.”

“In software development Amadeus and Traveltainment are already working together according to agile principles. This means: Instead of a big project there are several small ‘sprints’ that are time and again tested with customers and future users,” says Bernhard Steffens, Managing Director at Traveltainment. “This is exactly how we would like to proceed with the development of the new package tour search, too: Step by step we propose further developments and the practitioners from the travel agencies decide in software tests and in pilot operations together with us, in what direction the journey should take us.”

Amadeus Germany and Traveltainment will present their plans concerning the new package tour search during ITB Berlin 2018: hall 5.1, booth 115.
